"I have been in the market for a new car for about the past year. My commute to work each day is about 30 miles each way, so I wanted to go for something more economical. My wife and I decided that a Toyota Prius II would be the way to go. The closest I had come to buying one during the past year was at Riverview Toyota. Bad choice. Turned out to be a total waste of time. The salesman Kent was very nice and knowledgeable, but his sales manager (Australian guy, don't remember his name) was very pushy and con descending. They actually tried to change the terms of the deal without saying a word to me, and get me back to the financing office. after being burned on a previous deal, i am a much more cautious buyer, and asked all the right questions before signing anything or going into the dinancing office. After wasting an entire day at their dealership, I was completely turned off to the idea of buying a newer car.
A few weeks later, after doing some searching online, I found Acura North Scottsdales add for a used 2010 Prius II. The car was exactly what we were looking for- low miles, same color we wanted, and about $3000 less than what Riverview was trying to sell it to me for. I almost thought this was going to be a "too good to be true" situation where I get there and they try to take advantage of me by tacking on all kinds of crap I don't need at an insane rate. Not the case at all.
This was, by far, the best purchasing experience I have had. There was no pressure and they did not try to fool me like Riverview or even Pinnacle Nissan, who I had dealt with for my previous car. They were very honest, and worked to earn our business.
Another pleasant surprise from this dealership was that there were no gimmicks in the financing office. We made it clear that we were not interested in any add-on's like paint protection, and they didn't ask once.
I feel like it would be dishonest saying that there were no negatives during the deal. There were a few bumps. One was offering less for my trade in than KBB had suggested. Another was that it seemed to take a while to finish the deal. We were waiting for about 1-1.5 hours to get back to the financing office to finish the deal. Other than that, they were great. Vern and Rocco were extremely nice and helpful, and I would not hesitate goin back to this dealership in the future."
